Daniella Valz Gen is an artist and writer born in Lima and based in London.

Valz Gen’s practice spans installation, text and live performance. These exist both as independent outputs and as the result of collaborative or solo projects. Her work investigates different forms of embodying liminality, and reflects on the negotiation of territories, modes of address and value systems.

Recent projects include What are Words Worth / Sentient Value Systems, an ongoing collaboration with Taylor Le Melle and Serpentine Education Projects, based in Church Street, London; From a Creative Case to an Ecology of Care, an ongoing collaboration with Jade Montserrat, since March 2017; and Colaborar is The Name of the Game, a collaboration with Sin Fronteras, hosted by LAWRS (Latin American Women’s Rights Services) between January and June 2017.

Valz Gen’s work has been exhibited internationally, with solo projects such as All Across a Shattered Sky, Nagoya, 2013, Binary Code, Copenhagen, 2014 and Fluid Warp Generator, London, 2014. She has performed at ICA London, SPILL International Festival of Performance Art, Freud Museum and TYS Copenhagen.

Her first collection of poems Subversive Economies will be published in May 2018 by PSS Press.
