Workshop: Productive Resistances – Gambiarras, Social Urgencies and Self-Expression
Wednesday 25 July 2012, 1–5pm
‘Gambiarra’ is a Brazilian term commonly used in popular culture to describe self-constructed solutions for daily needs, from ‘stealing’ electric energy to the making of useful devices from scratch. It can imply both personal actions and participatory mutual aid, for example to build a house, furniture or fix things. In this workshop Beto Shwafaty works with participants to make constructions inspired by this approach.
This is an event to accompany the exhibition (in)visibilities, which is produced within Communal Knowledge.
