With contributions by Binna Choi, Yolande van der Heide (Casco), Andrea Phillips (Professor in Fine Art, Goldsmiths University of London), Åbäke, Work from Justice for Domestic Workers and food by The Marylebone Women’s Project.
The Grand Domestic Revolution Handbook is a compendium of living research developed by artists, designers, theorists, neighbours, and activists exploring the status of the home outside the narrow lens of private concerns. The publication has developed out of the Grand Domestic Revolution (GDR) project at Casco and The Grand Domestic Revolution Gores On exhibition at The Showroom in 2012.
Cluster is a network of eight contemporary visual art organisations that are each located in residential areas situated on the peripheries of European cities. Each organisation is focused on commissioning, producing, and presenting contemporary art which is often experimental, process-driven and research-focused. Compiled after a series of meetings in each organisation, the publication aims to find new ways to position this work and the work of contemporary visual arts organisations more broadly, particularly in relation to wider social, political, and cultural concerns.
This event is a joint book launch co-hosted with Casco — Office for Art, Design and Theory in Utrecht, Netherlands
