Preservation and Formlessness: A Poetry and Poetics Workshop led by poet James Goodwin in Response to the Archival Material for Denise Ferreira da Silva & Arjuna Neuman – 4 Waters: Deep Implicancy

This poetry and poetics workshop was designed to respond to the archival material used for Denise Ferreira da Silva’s & Arjuna Neuman’s film, ​4 Waters: Deep Implicancy.​ Individual and group writing exercises and brief guided discussions elaborated on four floating concepts – intuition, content, composition, form – in relation both to the archival material and the poetry deriving from the activities and conversations; and participants’ direct engagement with the thought of Denise and Arjuna contributed to and extended the archive in reading, producing, thinking and sharing the poetry that was created.
