Short-Circuits and Signals
Saturday 19 March 2011, 3–6pm
Karolin Meunier and Cecilia Wendt present and introduce a selection of Cinenova’s films and videos based on their particular perspectives on the collection.
Considering the reciprocal action between camera, person, speech and viewer, Karolin Meunier highlights the different techniques of self-description in the collection and asks what is the potential of public appearance by means of film and video.
Cecilia Wendt focuses on how the use of technology and ‘machinery’ or technical support is a possible agent in the films. She introduces her selection of films with a number of short speculative readings in relation to the use of signal-related material.
This is an event to accompany Reproductive Labour: An exhibition exploring the work of Cinenova.
