In this outdoor workshop, the pavement becomes your studio!

Inspired by The Showroom Mural Commission: Nassim Azarzar – Hayat al Noujoum / La vie des étoiles, we’ll be using colourful chalks to explore these questions from the artist:

  • What’s your journey? How did you get here?
  • Can you belong to more than one place?
  • What does home mean for you?
  • If you had to take with you just one thing wherever you go what would it be?
  • What makes someone belong somewhere?
  • Can you be from a place you never visited?

Maybe you reached the gallery on the number 6 bus, a quick walk from around the corner, or maybe your story spans countries and oceans. Whether your journey is simple or complex, long or short, this is your chance to share it visually, playfully, and together—on the streets of Church Street.

Artist Nassim Azarzar reflects on migration and movement through symbols and stories. In this workshop, you’ll add your own mark to a shared artwork that celebrates how we all arrive at The Showroom, from near and far.

No experience needed — just bring your story and your imagination!

This workshop is organised as part of Imagining Futures, The Showroom’s new programme for Schools and Young People supported by John Lyon’s Charit
