Join us for a performance created by Mikhail Karikis and a choir of young people from across London as part of his exhibition Songs for the Storm to Come.

Devised through a series of workshops and conversations, the work focuses on collective responses to the impending transformations caused by climate change and searches for ways to activate our trust in the possible. Together the group propose listening and communal sound-making as strategies to cultivate empathy, foster climate care and activate our capacities for problem-solving.

This event is organised with Imagining Futures, a new programme for schools and young people at The Showroom. Grounded in current research on inclusion and community-informed pedagogical practices, it builds on The Showroom’s legacy as a space for collaborative, process-led approaches to art and education. The programme and this performance aim to engage with the social and political issues shaping The Showroom’s local context, whilst also championing international, transdisciplinary forms of creative and educational exchange.

Imagining Futures is generously supported by John Lyon’s Charity
