Book Launch: Der Standpunkt der Aufnahme (Point of View)

Wednesday 29 October 2014, 6.30–9pm

Free, no booking required

A collection of texts and image essays through which film-makers, artists and theoreticians reflect on where ‘the political’ comes into their work and how making films turns into a political practice itself.

To launch the publication, the editor Tobias Hering, film-maker Elke Marhöfer and film theoretician and community video practitioner Ed Webb-Ingall will host an evening at The Showroom. Their discussion will be informed by Elke Marhöfer’s film prendas - ngangas - enquisos - machines {each part welcomes the other without saying}, researched and shot in Cuba, and film excerpts from the context of 1970s British film and video collectives.

This event is supported by Goethe-Institut London.

Der Standpunkt der Aufnahme is published by Archive Books 2014.
